Training Coordinator
Location: Southern Utah
Position Summary
The Training Coordinator plays a key role in building a skilled, safe, and compliant workforce in a mining and mineral processing operation. This position leads the coordination of onboarding, regulatory training, certification tracking, and workforce development programs that keep employees prepared and operations running effectively.
Working across operations, Human Resources, and Health & Safety, this role helps create a strong training culture by ensuring employees receive the right training at the right time. This includes supporting safety and compliance initiatives, role-based technical training, apprenticeship programs, and other workforce development efforts that strengthen long-term organizational capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule onboarding, job-specific, safety, and regulatory training programs.
- Track employee training completion, certifications, renewals, and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate training records to support compliance, audits, inspections, and internal reporting.
- Partner with supervisors, department leaders, and Health & Safety to identify training needs and support training plans.
- Help administer workforce development initiatives, including apprenticeship programs, technical training pathways, and grant-funded programs.
- Coordinate with external training providers, educational institutions, workforce agencies, and other program partners.
- Prepare training materials, presentations, sign-in sheets, and supporting documentation for training sessions.
- Monitor deadlines, reporting requirements, and milestones related to training and workforce development programs.
- Generate reports related to training progress, compliance status, and employee certifications.
- Support the ongoing improvement of training processes and role-based development programs across operations, maintenance, and technical teams.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience coordinating employee training programs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong recordkeeping and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting apprenticeship programs, workforce development initiatives, or grant-funded training programs.
- Experience in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, or another industrial environment.
- Experience with training management systems or HRIS platforms.
