Project Manager – Structural Steel Construction –  North Phoenix, AZ

We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager – Structural Steel Construction to lead complex, large-scale steel projects at the North Phoenix site. This role owns the full project lifecycle — from planning and fabrication through erection and close-out — ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You’ll partner closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to drive execution, solve problems, and deliver results on one of the most high-profile construction projects in the region.

Role Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

Lead end-to-end delivery of structural steel projects, coordinating design, fabrication, and erection activities.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Ensure compliance with client requirements, building codes, and safety standards.
Budget, Schedule & Cost Control

Track costs, forecast performance, and proactively identify cost-saving and risk-mitigation opportunities.
Report project status, financials, and milestones to senior leadership.
Team & Subcontractor Management

Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, fabricators, erectors, and subcontractors.
Set clear expectations, drive accountability, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality, schedule, and contract compliance.
Quality, Safety & Compliance

Enforce rigorous quality control and OSHA safety standards across all jobsite activities.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and progress reviews to maintain safety, quality, and schedule alignment.
Client & Stakeholder Communication

Serve as the primary client contact, providing clear updates on progress, risks, and milestones.
Act as the liaison between clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to resolve issues quickly.
Risk Management & Problem Solving

Identify project risks related to design, fabrication, logistics, or field execution.
Lead solutions for scope changes, delays, equipment issues, or unforeseen challenges with minimal disruption.
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain contracts, change orders, logs, and compliance documentation.
Prepare concise progress reports highlighting achievements, risks, and next steps.
Required skills and qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
PMP, LEED, or similar certifications a plus.
Experience

8–10+ years of project management experience in structural steel construction.
Proven success managing large, complex steel projects from design through erection.
Strong knowledge of AISC, AWS, ASTM, and structural steel fabrication methods.
Skills

Proficiency with MS Project, Procore, Primavera, or similar tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Solid command of budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and risk management.
Preferred Certifications

PMP
OSHA 30-Hour Construction
LEED AP (plus)
Work Environment – Split time between office and active construction/fabrication sites.  Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requiring decisive leadership and a strong safety mindset.
