Key Responsibilities:
Blueprint Mastery: Receive instructions, prints, sketches, and work orders, and leverage your expertise to read and interpret blueprints to plan the fitting operation.
Precision Fitting: Utilize your skills to assemble and fit drawing dimensions of various structural, plate, and mechanical materials with precision and attention to detail.
Material Handling: Direct and assist in handling and spreading material, assembling it into required relationships based on detail drawings, and placing fastening devices in their proper locations.
Layout Expertise: Lay out work lines or fit-up jigs when necessary, ensuring that all connections are checked, squared, and scribed accurately.
Quality Assurance: Be responsible for ensuring that your work conforms to drawings and notes, maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Finishing Touches: Clean up materials by grinding or chipping, and perform burn and tack welds for assembly purposes, contributing to the structural fit-up and layout.
Identification and Organization: Spot paint for identification marks and maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with your team and perform other routine duties as directed by management, contributing to our collective success.
Safety First: Adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements to ensure the well-being of yourself and your colleagues.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in welding and fitting is required, showcasing your expertise in the field.
Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and procedural manuals.
Skills Test: Must pass a fitter test, demonstrating your competence in the role.
