Senior Integration & Verification Engineer

Job Summary:

Senior-level engineer needed to support the integration, verification, and validation of complex software-intensive systems operating in secure, cloud-enabled environments. This position will contribute throughout the system lifecycle, from requirements and verification planning through integration, qualification, acceptance, deployment, and operational support.

The role will involve coordinating activities across software, hardware, simulated, and hardware-in-the-loop environments. The engineer will develop verification approaches, execute integration and test activities, investigate anomalies, document results, and work with engineering and technical teams to resolve issues and demonstrate compliance with system requirements.

Experience with aerospace, space, defense, or other highly complex technical systems is particularly relevant.

Responsibilities Include:

• Lead and support integration and verification activities spanning software components, subsystems, applications, and complete systems.
• Review requirements for clarity, completeness, and testability and translate them into practical verification approaches.
• Create and maintain test plans, procedures, test designs, requirements documentation, and verification records.
• Develop and execute functional, performance, integration, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Establish and maintain test environments, including software simulators and hardware/software-in-the-loop configurations.
• Develop test scripts and supporting automation as needed.
• Coordinate integration activities involving internal engineering groups, external suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Evaluate test results, investigate unexpected behavior, document anomalies, and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Track integration and verification issues through resolution and closure.
• Maintain requirements-to-test traceability and support verification compliance activities.
• Participate in technical and design reviews throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support secure software deployment and verify software versions, interfaces, configurations, and associated changes.
• Assist with cybersecurity-related verification activities, including vulnerability assessments, secure interface testing, update testing, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with systems, software, cybersecurity, quality, operations, and project engineering organizations.
• Provide technical support during major integration and test events and production activities.
• Support after-hours or weekend work when required during critical test campaigns.
• Travel periodically in support of program requirements.

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant professional experience; or
• Graduate degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Demonstrated experience with system or software integration and verification.
• Experience developing and executing structured test procedures.
• Ability to analyze technical test results and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.

Desired Skills:

• Network administration, including firewalls, VPNs, and zero-trust networking concepts.
• Software integration, testing, and troubleshooting in secure or classified environments.
• Defense or aerospace programs involving spacecraft, payloads, ground infrastructure, or environmental testing.
• Cyber-resilience concepts spanning preparation, protection, detection, response, and recovery.
• Requirements definition and testability analysis for hardware and software.
• System architecture documentation, block diagrams, and interface/interconnect diagrams.
• Requirements and model-based systems engineering tools such as
• DOORS, Cameo, or similar platforms.
• Test automation or scripting using Python, Java, Perl, or comparable languages.
• Development and source-control environments using tools such as
• Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, or comparable platforms.
• RF and electronic test equipment, including spectrum/network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, power sensors, modems, and emulators.
• Requirements verification and traceability processes.
• Hardware/software integration and system-level performance testing.
