Pricing Analyst
Location: Provo, UT
Applicants must demonstrate a strong understanding or foundational knowledge in pricing that suggests they could independently research, analyze products, and/or compare them to competitors to help keep company competitive in the market. Pricing products to be manufactured requires a specific skill set that accounting does not include. Cost accounting is a plus. Manufacturing environment. Will work closely with sales and marketing.
- Conduct analysis of cost accounting, pricing trends, customer demand, and completive landscape to identify opportunities for pricing optimization.
- Develop and maintain pricing models to support strategic pricing decisions across product lines.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies, including pricing promotions and discounts.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance, teams to develop pricing proposals and present pricing recommendations to senior management.
- Provide ongoing analysis of pricing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain pricing data integrity and accuracy within the company’s pricing system.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to pricing optimization and process improvement.
- Performs all pricing functions, quarterly price adjustments, and other commercial analytics.
- Serves a as a Subject Matter Expert in Pricing to include competitive market pricing levels.
- Daily price maintenance/updates, including ensuring that product profit margins meet desired thresholds.
- Low margin review and Special Price Agreement analysis.
- Identifies and implements best practices, SOP’s and process documentation.
- Tracks and reports business case performance post-implementation of pricing changes.
- Delivers presentations that describe model results and recommendations to senior executives and other key stakeholders.
- Works on automating processes and reporting dashboards.
- Develops pricing and financial content for executive level presentations and assists the manager in communicating and discussing information as needed.
- Participates in quarterly forecasting, annual planning and long-term strategic planning that is part of the FP&A process.
- Conducts ad-hoc reporting and other miscellaneous projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 years of relevant work experience in finance and analysis or pricing. Cost accounting a plus.
- Strong understanding of Pricing Strategy to include Price Elasticity, Value-based, and Penetration strategies.
- Financial modeling, including price/margin analysis.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Products (mainly Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Good listening skills and desire to learn
- Ability to communicate with team members at all levels
- Experience with ERP systems, BI reports, Excel proficiency, CPQ systems or pricing software preferred.
